The Stroma Research Initiative Leiden aims to exchange knowledge and connect researchers with interest in stromal cell biology to increase cross-departmental synergy and (inter)national collaborations.
Our research focuses on:
Mapping and defining stromal cell subsets in healthy and diseased tissues
Assessing the functional role of stromal cells in pathogenesis and disease progression
Creating close-to-patient multicellular model systems
Identifying and testing of novel stroma directed therapeutic interventions
Our research is strongly embedded in the LUMC Innovation themes Oncology, Regenerative medicine of Tissues and Organs and Immunity.
