Mission statement

The Stroma Research Initiative Leiden aims to exchange knowledge and connect researchers with interest in stromal cell biology to increase cross-departmental synergy and (inter)national collaborations.

Our research focuses on:

  • Mapping and defining stromal cell subsets in healthy and diseased tissues
  • Assessing the functional role of stromal cells in pathogenesis and disease progression
  • Creating close-to-patient multicellular model systems
  • Identifying and testing of novel stroma directed therapeutic interventions

Our research is strongly embedded in the LUMC Innovation themes Oncology, Regenerative medicine of Tissues and Organs and Immunity.
